Roadside Assistance Technician

DriveForce is a new, locally owned roadside assistance company serving Jacksonville and surrounding communities. We’re looking for a dependable, customer-focused Roadside Assistance Technician to help drivers get moving again. In this role, you’ll provide spare tire installations, jump-starts, battery installations, and fuel delivery. You’ll communicate clearly with customers, approach each call with care, and represent DriveForce with professionalism. As part of a growing local team, you’ll have the opportunity to help establish the quality of service our customers can expect from DriveForce.

What you’ll do

- Respond to assigned roadside assistance calls throughout our service area. - Assess the location and vehicle before beginning work, following safety procedures and escalating unsafe situations. - Install usable spare tires, perform jump-starts, install compatible batteries, and deliver fuel using approved procedures. - Explain the service to customers and confirm authorization before starting work. - Keep customers and the team informed about arrival updates, service progress, and any issues. - Record service details accurately, including work performed and any unresolved concerns. - Inspect and maintain assigned tools, equipment, and supplies. - Treat customers and their vehicles with care, especially during stressful situations. - Recognize when a service is outside your training or DriveForce’s scope and contact the appropriate team member for guidance.

What you’ll bring

- Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets applicable company and insurance requirements. - Basic knowledge of vehicle tires, batteries, and safe tool use. - Ability to follow procedures, recognize hazards, and exercise sound judgment. - Clear communication skills and a patient, respectful approach to customer service. - Dependability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently. - Comfort using a smartphone for navigation, communication, and service documentation. - Ability to perform the essential duties of the position, including working outdoors, bending, kneeling, and handling tires, batteries, and equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred experience - Previous work in roadside assistance, automotive service, tire service, delivery, or field service. - Hands-on experience with spare tire installations, jump-starts, or battery installations. - Familiarity with Jacksonville and surrounding communities.
